Reception Administrator Job Summary:
The reception administrator’s job aims to assist patients in admissions and discharges professionally, preventing operational and financial risks, and exceeding client expectations. The reception administrator’s key responsibilities include capturing and processing admissions, identifying and preventing financial risks, ensuring an effective discharge process, and maintaining patient confidentiality. The ideal candidate should have a Grade 12 or equivalent education and experience in reception administration or private healthcare facilities. Job skills include debt pack application, admission, bed functions, anatomy, hospital switchboard systems, patient administration policies, AS400 system, computer literacy, ICD and CPT codes, Medical Aid Schemes, WCA processes, emergency protocols, and identifying financial risks. Experience in a private healthcare facility is preferred.
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

- Ensure admissions (including pre-admissions / bookings) are captured and processed as per procedure
- Identify and prevent financial risks by adhering to policies and procedures
- Ensure an effective discharge process as per the Patient Administration Manual
- Maintain patient confidentiality
